Hi. I’m Anny May and this is my everyday. Day in and day out. I really wouldn’t want it any other way.
I am currently a Stay at Home Mom to two of the most insane loves of my life. He is a three year old (the resident household terror) and she is a one year old (terror in training). But I would be an absolute liar if I said that being at home with my kids is just so nice and relaxing. . . a dream. Most days I’m on the brink of insanity, a lot of days I wish I was anywhere else and some days are okay. That’s not to say there are no good days. We have tons of great moments and a great day here and there. I didn’t think that parenting was going to be this hard being that we are older. What I didn’t realize is that we don’t run the house . . . they do. While they are my entire life, I do not want to lose sight of who I am which is why I do this.
I’m a self described hands into it type of person and I jump face first (yup) into pretty much everything I do, whether it’s a first time experience or something I’ve done a thousand times before. I’m not afraid to make an attempt to try to do anything even if the finished product ends up less than perfect (which it usually does and I’m always proud it, regardless). <— This is a trait I picked up from my dad.
I spend nearly every waking moment with my little ones but when nap time and sleep time arrive, my GO button gets hit and I have to start a project, work on a project, or finish a project that’s been laying around waiting to be done. When I get an idea in my head I have to start doing just to see if I can. It’s one of the reasons I do these things. The main one is maintaining my SANITY. These projects are my outlet for the day’s frustrations and they give me something to focus on other than the kids (even though everything I make lately is for them).
This blog is a way for me to share in my efforts and hopefully help others to just make an attempt to do those things that maybe you’re scared to try either because you’re afraid what you do won’t be the most prize piece ever created or you’re scared to run a piece of machinery be it a sewing machine or a saw. And if you ever really look at something you buy, you’ll see the flaws. We pay for them every day, so if we make something slightly flawed, it’s okay! Starting something new can be intimidating but finishing anything is always a great feeling. So if you want to craft, we can CRAFT, if you want to build, we can BUILD, if you want to cook, we can COOK, fix it, etc. . . You get the picture. We’ll do it ALL here. I hope you find something here that can help or even inspire you!
If you have anything you may want on the blog, contact me and I will see what I can do (when I get a chance). 🙂
